The Around St.Maarten St.Martin Multihull Regatta will take place for the 2nd year and hopes to attract 20 multihulls to race in the event. Boats eligible to race are every sailing vessel with more than 1 hull that can safely go around the island. Start and finish will be in Simpson Bay.
Beach Cats belong on a beach and what better beach on St.Maarten Saint Martin than Kim Sha Beach!
The regatta organization is therefore very happy that this year the head quarters of the event will be at La Bamba on Kim Sha Beach.
On Friday the 25th of February from 5pm registration & skipper briefing will be held there as will the prize giving on Saturday the 26th after the around the island race around 6pm. Beach Cats taking part in the event will be right on the beach on Friday evening & Saturday before and after the race. Everybody is invited to come and support the racers. Check out what a cat looks like and how it works, the participants from St.Maarten Saint Martin & St.Barths will be happy to explain.
Together with the help of other sponsors being Budget Marine, Passaat, the Maritime School of the West Indies & Archyon the regatta organization is working on a successful but intimate race.
There will be at least 3 different classes to race in. Beach Cats, Multihull Racing & Multihull Cruising for the live-aboard sailors.
